HISTORY:
Velo Star, formerly Cyclone Bicycle Supply, originated in Portland, Oregon in 2003 with an integral and visionary desire to be a top-class full line parts & accessory distributor for the west coast retailer market.
Business quickly grew and a large and dedicated following of retailers became the essence of Cyclone’s success in the early days. By 2014, as regional distribution expanded and Cyclone grew exponentially in the wholesale market place, an east coast distribution competitor was acquired by Cyclone. This warehouse and office space in Carlstadt, N.J. is now the home and headquarters of Velo Star.
In 2015, Velo Star became the exclusive U.S. distributor for Cinelli, one of the most iconic brand names in cycling. A few years later, Wilier-Triestina, another heritage and iconic Italian bicycle line, was bought into to the Velo Star portfolio of European brands.
Velo Star now exclusively represents Wilier-Triestina, TUFO tires and Mitas tubes and tires. The latter two being very high-quality rubber brands direct from the Czech Republic.
MISSION & PHILOSOPHY:
Over the last few years, Velo Star has been transforming away from a distribution model of being a general parts and accessories supplier to representing a very select group of heritage European brands with rich history and deep roots in cycling.
Our mission as a wholesale distributor is to not only provide excellent customer service and profitability but to provide the U.S. retailer with a unique and compelling product offering. We provide bike brands and other select cycling categories that are fresh and exciting to both the retailer and to their consumer looking for European style and performance combined with pure brand cache.
Velo Star's company philosophy for providing the highest quality and unique European product lines is represented in the five points of the star. The five points represent Quality, Sustainability, Integrity, Solutions, and Advocacy.
